Either way, I have room for socks and jean bottoms to fit.The soles pack snow easily. So coming in from walking on snow, you must be careful not to go sliding down the hall. Also, walking on snow pack can be tricky. I have a pair of ICEtrekker diamond grips (cleats) to make walking around a no-brainer. I haven't scuffed the soles, yet.Overall, these boots fit my feet (and calves), keep my feet warm and dry, their cute (I got the black pair), I got them with a discount and I no longer have to wear my husbands boots to take the dogs out! I like them. I just wish I bought them in purple!!
